I still go the lower route on my ranger. I'd rather risk the giants than those bridges seeing as how the KFC try so hard to body block.

You know, when you get passed the Giants, you get to a small way in the mountains, there is a group of Av's...
Is it me or did they edited the skills for those? They keep slowing me down.. and they never did before, and now i keep dying

You are just coming across the ELE boss in that spawn is all. When he slows you down, just stop. You are immune to everything but lightning damage, so activate your dolyak and elemental resistance and keep using healing signet until you see the hex start to wear off. As it is leaving, activate sprint and you'll mosy right on out of there.

I totally agree. My brother had a solo monk and he used to solo the desert a lot. Well one day he soloed them so much that a message popped up saying that if he continued to farm these first few monsters over and over again, he would get less and less drops. He also searched it to show me what the message was. It was quite strange.

I consider Soloing the IDS with a Warrior a VERY great challege.
1) you have to RUN all the way past the multiple mobs that if you make a wrong move they can kill u.
2) once you get at the cave, you have to deal with Mr. Intrupting Mountian Troll who intrupts you signet and make you scramble to time your Healing sig right and kill him at the same time
3) if you don't get one you got to start the dang thing ALL OVER AGAIN!

Even though the IDS is no longer worth as much, I still go because it's just so much fun I forgot to put my Superior Swordsmanship hat on in this shot, so the damage is a bit low. Hundred Blades works so well here.

I've got my routine and build down so well that I can kill almost everything in Mineral Springs solo now

|
Sure it did. It was the rich who already know how to farm and run solo. They were the ones who made the runs early on and were able to sell the swords for 100k. The poor were still doing the runs in groups and thus limiting their chances of finding any.

ANet doesn't *force* anyone to do anything. Some people went and bought it for outrageous prices because they *assumed* (based on NOTHING, which is what ANet had said on the subject back then) that it was a wintersday event. Can you blame ANet for people who make the wrong assumptions and bet their gold on these wrong assumptions?
|
No they don't but the assumptions were not based on "Nothing"...they were based on the only thing publically mentioned which was by Gaile Grey stating that they would probably only be around for the Wintersday event. Had they mentioned otherwise, then people would not have rushed to try and find one or buy one. I just wish they would have told us right from the beginning.

The rich will always be rich, and the poor will have to catch up or get lucky. Whether we like it or not, that is the way things work in real life, and in the game. We'll just have to accept it now though won't we.
To be honest, this is the most friendly solo build for people without a great deal of money. You don't really need anything spectacular.. just the skills, and the dmg.. a -2 shield (which you can get from bleached shells, and is the best for this) .. so I mean. I don't understand why people are complaining about this of all things.
Sorry to say...

Thats like half the people in granite saying "I havent gotten an IDS in 20+ runs! Im farming griffs" I come back from my run and there they are " Stance Tank LFG for IDS farm". Then there is the guy who wants to flood the market with em so they drop. : teaching warriors how to IDS farm free.why? because i want the price of IDS to go down." Too bad they cant afford one. I hope it gets nerfd im saving my 3 for the BIG bump up in prices.

<--------Raises hand
I would be one of those, but don't feel sorry (I was just being lazy). I still have another 778k sitting in the bank . I really hope that people didn't spend everything they have on one of these...it's pretty stupid to spend most of your income on an item like this. It's like the new chaos plane T. shield fad....
Stil, kind of funny that only a week or so ago the IDS was selling for 100k hahaha

This may have already been metioned, but I think having limited edition weapons would be a great idea. I expect to be flamed for this because I know many people will say that doing so will only make the professional farmers richer, but I think having a limited edition weapon would be kind of neat. One could argue that Greens and so on are limited, but they're still out there. By "limited edition" I mean only available during a certain time frame. Once they're gone, they're gone. They'd stay in your inventory of course, but would not be available to farm anymore.

There are tons of these...
HoD weapons
Rockmolder 20/20
Candy Cane Weapons/Shields
Pumpkin Crown
Yule Hat
Reindeer Horns
I personally hoped that the IDS would go this way, but unfortunately they are just another green.

You know what I mean Jetdoc. Most of those you meantion are seasonal and aren't useful really. And the Rockmolder is still around. It just got nerfed with an update. I'm talking real weapons...axes, swords, bows, etc. that are limited.
